Born on January 11, 1960, in the serene town of Friendsville, Maryland, Terry lived a life full of love, dedication, and cherished memories. Terry was the beloved son of Reed and Mildred Friend (Thomas). He was preceded in death by his dear sister, Sandra Wilt (Friend), with whom he shared a close and loving bond. Terry's life was a testament to the power of love and family. Married for 45 beautiful years to his soulmate, Karen Friend (Knight), their union was a beacon of strength and devotion. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Stacy White and Stephanie Koppleman, who brought immense joy and pride to Terry's life. He embraced his sons-in-law, Christopher White and Christopher Koppleman, Sr., as his own, forming an unbreakable family bond. As a grandfather to seven adoring grandchildren—Cody, Cory, and Chelsea White, and Alexis, Christopher Jr., Austin, and Kelsey Koppleman—Terry found endless joy in their laughter and accomplishments. He was further blessed with two great-grandchildren, Grayson White and Addyson Richard, who brought smiles to his face and warmth to his heart. Terry's family extended beyond his immediate circle, including his siblings Davey, Geraldine, Sue, Wanda, Jenny, Patty, and Ricky. His legacy of love and kindness will continue through his 21 nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. A man of simple pleasures, Terry found joy in the tranquility of his garden, where he spent countless hours nurturing life and reflecting on the beauty of nature. His garden was not just a hobby, but a sanctuary of peace and a testament to his gentle spirit. Per his wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, Terry's family invites all who knew him to celebrate his life by embracing the values he cherished most: love, togetherness, and the beauty of nature. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Terry's memory, reflecting his generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
