Norman Lee Sanford, Sr.

On 5/21/2022 our dad, Norman AKA has Norm, Bo, Bo-Bo or the Holland Street Terror (lol we know you’d like that dad) lost his battle to a rare and aggressive form of cancer at the young age of 80. Norman was survived by his wife, Sharon Ziegler Sanford, his daughter Lisa Sanford Glassman ( husband, Dr Dean Glassman), his son Norman Sanford, Jr (wife Suzanne Andrione Sanford), and his daughter Vicki Sanford Wrisk (husband Bernie Wrisk). His 7 grandchildren; Sienna Glassman Graulich (husband James Graulich), Dr Gabriella Glassman, Brenden Wrisk, Julian Glassman, Madilyn Wrisk, Jacob Glassman and Sophia Wrisk. And his only great grandson, James Dean Graulich. His sister, Patricia Ceslik and brother Mike Sanford (wife Janet Sanford). Norman grew up in Baltimore MD. He served in the US Navy on the USS Norfolk. Norman loved boxing and loved telling stories about how he was a boxing champion after only going 1-0 before he retired the gloves lol. He loved music, dancing, sports, playing chess and most of all the Lord and his family. Norman was a devout Christian with a strong faith. No doubt our dad was greeted with open arms from his Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved his family and was so proud of all of his children, grandchildren and only great grandson! He loved to brag about his grand children and all the wonderful things they’ve accomplished. Norman loved music and for the longest time had an absolutely amazing record collection that was second to none. Great memories of all of us dancing in our basement on Cedar Garden Rd. He also loved sports…any sports it didn’t matter. He knew every player present and past and all of their stats. When his youngest grandchild decided to play college lacrosse he even learned everything there was to know about about womens lacrosse. Nothing was off limits. He was an avid sports memorabilia collector and especially loved collecting baseball cards. He had a successful eBay store for many years. For 17 years Norman and his wife, Sharon lived in Summerfield, Florida where they built a beautiful home and life together. In December of 2021, despite not having any major health issues, he thought it was best to move back to MD to be closer to Sharon’s family. Little did we all know that a year later he would be diagnosed with this horrible disease. He didn’t like the diagnoses and fought as best as he could. He was comforted knowing that Sharon would be taken care of and that he had lived a good life serving the Lord and others! Norman was a wonderful man with a heart as big as gold. He would do anything for anyone and never spoke bad about anyone. He was an incredibly smart man who could talk about any subject at any time. This isn’t how we expected things to be when he moved back to MD, but God had others plans. We are blessed with the time that we had with him especially during the short time of his illness. He was surrounded by all of his family and friends even via video during his final minutes on earth. Dad we know you are in heaven looking over all of us and another guardian angel among us. We love you dad and miss you terribly. Until we meet again.
