Mary Theresa Dellario Mary Theresa Dellario, age 61, passed away peacefully on October 18, in Pasadena, MD surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle against cancer. Mary Theresa was known as “Marf” to family and friends from a very young age. Her husband, coworkers and local friends knew her as Mary, while her nieces and nephew lovingly called her Aunt Tica. Marf’s sisters and brothers loved her dearly and thought of her as a “second Mother” for the three decades following the passing of their Mother, Frances Cameli Dellario. Her son Joseph, the “light of her life”, knew her as Mom. Mary Theresa was born and raised in Pittston, PA and was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School. Her professional training included a Degree of Nursing from Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown, PA, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wilkes College and a Masters in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. Mary was a dedicated and passionate nurse for 40 years, with most of her service within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, until her retirement in October 2017. Mary helped shape the careers of countless nurses and physicians. She was smart, strong willed and knew how to guide people to be their very best. The thousands of patients whose lives she touched were blessed to have experienced Mary’s own special brand of wisdom, compassion and tough love when it was needed. Marf was happiest while spending time with family, friends and her adored Labradors. She loved carrying on family traditions, great Italian food, red wine and martinis. Those who were fortunate enough to be part of Marf’s life could always count on her generosity and unwavering loyalty in any situation. She was truly selfless always placing everyone’s needs before her own. Mary Theresa is survived by her son, Joseph Dellario and her husband, Kirill Gorbachev. In mourning are her four siblings, Jay Dellario Ellis, Bernie Dellario, Freddy Dellario Gettmann and Angelo Dellario Jr. The spouses of Marf’s siblings share in this loss and include respectfully, Kent Ellis, Jeffrey Tait, Steven Gettmann and Alicia Furman Dellario. Aunt Tica’s nieces and nephew include Lindsay Ellis Macchi, Lauren Ellis Rowell, Jenna Ellis, Merena Gettmann Sarnecki, Eric Gettmann, Sabrina Dellario and she was Great Aunt Tica to Colbie, Callan and Zoe Macchi. Mary Theresa lived a very simple life and never wanted to be the center of attention. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral service or necessity for flowers. If interested, donations in her name may be made to the charity of your choice. All those who truly knew and loved Marf will raise a glass and be thankful for having been touched by such a beautiful soul. She was one in a million and will be missed more than words can say.
