Kathleen Rae Williams Geiger

Kathleen Rae Williams passed away in Annapolis, MD, on May 12, 2026. She was born on August 24, 1952, in Milwaukee, WI, to her late parents, Robert and Pauline (Lange) Williams. Kathy graduated from Menomonee Falls High School in 1970 and went on to earn a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1974. She then attended Widener Law School in Wilmington, DE, graduating cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree in 1990. During this time, she clerked for Delaware Supreme Court Justice Henry Horsey. She was admitted to the Delaware State Bar in 1990 and subsequently to the U.S. Patent Bar in 1992. After graduating from law school, Kathy worked as an attorney for DuPont and was a partner at the law firm of Potter, Anderson & Corroon in Wilmington, DE, where she headed the Intellectual Property practice. Kathy met her husband, Lee Geiger, while at UW–Madison, and the couple was married on December 28, 1974, at Grace Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls, WI. Kathy is survived by her husband, Lee, of Annapolis, MD; daughter Jennifer (Mike) Brennan of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA; daughter Linden (Patrick) Gallagher of Phoenixville, PA; granddaughters Maeve and Alice Gallagher of Phoenixville, PA; granddaughters Diana and Tessa Brennan of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA; grandson Athan Gallagher of Phoenixville, PA; brother Randall Williams of New London, WI; and brother Paul Williams of Slinger, WI. Kathy was interesting - Lee, full of sincerity, famously declared her so during a toast on their 25th wedding anniversary. The laughter from friends and family was loud, but Lee vehemently defended the term as the highest compliment he could give, and he continues to defend it to this day. And he was right. Kathy had a rich and inquisitive mind and spirit, which led her through books, music, and around the world. She loved laughing, especially over drinks and cards, and could throw down a trump card and a quip as well as any sailor. She loved her family and friends above all and created a home for them that was filled with lush colors, plush rugs, quirky décor (Carrots the giant dinosaur stands out), Maine Coon cats, doodle dogs, Zsa Zsa dress-up clothes for her beloved grandbabies, and the warm smell of pasta sauce simmering on the stove. She loved life and loved sharing it with others. We love you, Kathy (Mom), and will miss you every day.
