Josefina L. Felias, affectionately known as Joy to most, Josie, Tiya,Tita Jo, Manang, or Mama Joy to her friends and family, was called to her eternal home on December 17, 2025, at the age of 64. Josefina’s life journey led her to Rockville, Maryland, where she spent her final moments surrounded by the love of her two daughters, Cristina and Cristadel, grandson Ethan, son in-law, Tirso Jr., family and friends. Josefina’s life was a testament to her optimism, positivity, her dedication to her loved-ones and friends, and her unwavering faith in Christ. As a devout Catholic, she lived her life with grace and kindness, embodying the spirit of service in all she did. During her role as a housekeeper at an assisted living facility in Silver Spring, MD, she shared her God-given musical talents by singing to elderly residents, lifting their spirits. For Josefina, this was not just a job, but a ministry through which she touched the lives of many with her compassionate care and ever-present smile. Josefina’s nurturing presence was the cornerstone of her family. As a daughter, a sister, a mother, and a dedicated grandmother, her love for her family knew no bounds. She instilled in her grandson, as well as to all those who know her, the values of love, faith, resilience, and positive outlook leaving behind a legacy that will continue to flourish in their hearts forever. Josefina’s passion for life was evident in her love for cooking, singing karaoke, and fitness dancing. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and joy, where she crafted meals that nourished both body and soul. Her joyful singing voice and energetic dancing were a source of delight to her family and friends, and her spirited nature brought light to every family gathering. Those who knew Josefina would describe her as loving, high spirited, faith-filled, and incredibly optimistic. She faced life's challenges, including her battle with cancer, with a courageous heart, never losing her ability to inspire and uplift those around her.Her strength and grace were a reflection of her faith and trust in God's plan. As we remember Josefina, we take comfort in the words of Matthew 5:4, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Her life was a beautiful tapestry of love, service, faith, strength and bravery, and while we mourn her passing, we will continue to celebrate the life she lived and the profound impact she had on all who were blessed to know her. Josefina’s departure from this world leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of her beloved children, siblings, grandchildren, relatives and friends whose lives she touched. Her spirit will continue to live on through the memories we cherish and the love she shared with us all. As we bid farewell to Josefina L. Felias, let us hold fast to the kindness and love she spread and the faith that sustained her. We take solace in knowing that she now rests in the loving arms of her Savior, free from pain and full of the joy that she so readily shared on earth.
