Fendi Chanelle Bankston, age 27 was born on August 20th, 1997 in New York City. She was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother, and Friend. Fendi grew up on 169th Street and Webster Avenue, where she began her journey through life as a spirited and vibrant soul. Fendi, a woman cherished by her family and friends. Fendi was the beloved biological daughter of the late Frieda Gay Austin and the deeply loved adopted daughter of the late Betty Bankston. Her legacy of love continues through her devoted son, Zechariah Bankston. She leaves behind a close-knit family, including her siblings Jasmine Bankston, Jody Shaw, and Tisha Bankston, who surrounded her with affection and support. As a devoted Aunt, Fendi held a special place in the hearts of her nephews, Noah Rivers, Isaiah Rivers, and King Rivers, as well as her niece and goddaughter, NiyahLee Rivers. Her presence will be deeply missed by her Aunt Deborah Austin and Uncle Andre Austin. Fendi was blessed to have known the love and wisdom of her sweet and loving Grandma Rose. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues who will forever cherish her memory. Her life was a testament to her strength. Fendi will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to her family, and the joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her. Fendi's life was one of joy, resilience, and boundless love. She was diagnosed with a serious illness in December 2022, but her strength never wavered. Before her diagnosis, Fendi was pursuing a career in nursing and had previously worked at UPS. Her love for Disney was evident as she spent many years working at the Disney Store, indulging in her passion for all things magical. A woman of distinct taste, Fendi's favorite colors were black, yellow, and gray, and she had a unique flair for fashion and hairstyling, particularly loving her box braids and colorful hair choices. Her favorite foods included Italian and soul food, and she had a zest for all kinds of culinary delights. She loved spending time with Zechariah her son, who was the light of her life. They enjoyed walks and many of their favorite activities together. Some of her favorite holidays were her Birthday, Easter, Christmas, and Halloween, during which her creativity and love for celebration’s shone brightly. Known for her beautiful charisma, Fendi filled every room with her bright smile and infectious laughter. She loved to dance, especially “twerking”, and was full of life and joy, even during her illness. She had a “serious” case of OCD that would surely keep a smile on your face. Fendi was a loyal and outspoken friend, always offering a listening ear and encouragement to those around her. Her love for pets and her humorous ways brought so much joy to those who knew her. Fendi was one who knew how to have a good time, and she would want us to celebrate her life with the same enthusiasm she shared with the world and those around her. As we honor her memory, we remember her as a beacon of light, her spirit forever with us. Let us celebrate in her honor, for that is truly what she would have wanted. Fendi, you will be missed dearly, but your spirit will live on in our hearts and through your beautiful son Zechariah. May your beautiful soul Rest in peace.
