Eleanor Frances Forrest Fisher

Eleanor Frances Forrest Fisher, aged 86, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026 in Pasadena, Maryland. Eleanor was born on July 30, 1940 in Norwood, Massachusetts to Eleanor and Francis Forrest. Eleanor spent her early years between Norwood and Mattapoisett. Eleanor attended St. Catherine’s in Norwood for primary school and later attended Fontbonne Academy, where she was proud to be a member of the high school’s first graduating class in 1958. After high school, Eleanor continued her education at Regis College, where she earned a degree in Psychology. Following her graduation in 1962, she began a lifelong passion for teaching as a second-grade teacher in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She met John "Jack" Fisher at her cousin Cathy's wedding in Maryland; Jack would say he made the "best sale of his life" the day they were married. Eleanor was a devoted and active member of Our Lady of the Chesapeake parish, generously giving her time and talents wherever they were needed. In recent years, she served through the St. Vincent de Paul Society and as a member of the Bereavement Committee, offering comfort and care to grieving families by preparing and serving luncheons following funeral services. Eleanor was also a cherished and active member of the Sillery Bay community and the Ladies Garden Club, where she enjoyed sharing her time, friendship, and generous spirit with others. Eleanor will be remembered for her boundless energy and generous spirit. She could often be found in the kitchen late into the evening, lovingly baking sweet treats, preparing for the day ahead, or finding yet another way to care for the people she loved. Although Eleanor was not especially competitive herself, she loved cheering on her favorite teams—the Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Colts, Orioles, and Ravens. More than any team, however, Eleanor’s greatest joy came from cheering on the people she loved. She was happiest when supporting her family and friends through all of life’s moments, always encouraging them in whatever path they chose. Eleanor will be lovingly remembered as one of their greatest cheerleaders—a constant source of encouragement, pride, and unwavering support. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eleanor and Francis Forrest; her brother, James Forrest; and her husband, John “Jack” Fisher. She is survived by her children, Meghan, Christopher, Kathryn, and John; her grandchildren, Zachary, Madison, Alyssa, Dominic, Juliet, Olivia, Jack, and Maggie Grace; as well as four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Eleanor’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
