Eileen M. Smith February 22, 1929 – August 14, 2025 Eileen M. Smith, 96, a cherished longtime resident of Pasadena, passed away on August 14, 2025, leaving a profound void in the lives of her family and friends. Born on February 22, 1929, in the beloved Pigtown community of Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late James and Dora McCloskey. Proud of her roots and Irish heritage, she was the self-proclaimed Sergeant of Arms in the McCloskey Cousins Club, where she shared many fun times and made unforgettable memories with her cousins. As a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of the Chesapeake for many decades, she served as the leader of the teams responsible for counting the weekly collection and pressing linens for the altar. She also found joy in greeting the public while working at Costco, where she handed out samples with a smile. Her hobbies and passions included crafting beautiful ceramic pieces and volunteering for over 25 years with Meals on Wheels. A true social butterfly, Eileen loved welcoming guests to her home along the Magothy River, where bushels of steamed crabs were enjoyed and countless memories were created. She was married to the late John M. Smith for 63 wonderful years. Together they built a family and life full of love and laughter. Eileen is survived by her son Michael Steven Smith and his wife Debra of Glen Burnie; her daughters Kathleen Williams and her husband Joseph of Crisfield, and Cheryl Gray and her husband David of Severna Park. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Laura Wood and her husband Keith of Owings, Amanda Gray of St. Petersburg, FL, and Adam Gray of Sunderland; and her great-grandchildren Ryan and Emily Wood of Owings. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her generosity, quick wit, and unwavering love for her family and friends. The family will be accepting condolences at Our Lady of the Chesapeake beginning at 10:00 AM on the day of the memorial service.
