Charles Leckner

In Loving Memory It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Charles Edward Leckner, who passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at the age of 86. Charles was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him. Born on February 10, 1939, in Baltimore, MD, Charles was the beloved child of Arthur and Marie Leckner. Throughout his life, Charles exemplified the values of compassion, integrity, and dedication. After graduating from Calvert Hall High School, he attended Baltimore College of Commerce graduating in June 1969, where he developed a lifelong passion for computers. He was a true family man whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. He was a devoted Christian who enjoyed family gatherings, collecting trains, and watching sports. Charles and his wife, Ellen, celebrated 65 years of marriage in June 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ellen, his three loving daughters and son-in laws, Elizabeth (Brian) Stewart; Donna (Barry) Kellam; Susan (James) Beatty, his devoted son and daughter-in law, Christopher (Mylene) Leckner, his brother and wife Robert (LaVern) Leckner, sisters May Thompson and Mary Pierzchalski; sister-in law Mary Snyder; and his thirteen grandchildren, James Doukas, Amber, and Tyler Stewart, Maria, Mark, and Rebecca Kellam; Jenna, James (J.T.), and Kylie Beatty; and Lance, Clark, Logan, and Collin Leckner and great-grandson, Adam. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchild all brought him endless pride and joy as well as his nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Marie Leckner, and his mother, Ida Leckner. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17th, at 10:00 am. Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate the extraordinary legacy he has left behind. St. Phillip Neri Roman Catholic Church 6405 S. Hammonds Ferry Road Linthicum Heights, MD 21090. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Catholic Charities or Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. Although Charles will be missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
