Mark Allen Melzer Sr. May 31, 1955 – July 13, 2026 Mark Allen Melzer Sr., 71, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 31, 1955, Mark was the beloved son of the late Rita Mae and beloved step father Frederick Sporrer and biological father Allen P. Melzer. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, and loyal friend whose life was defined by hard work, dedication, and love for his family. Mark shared 41 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Regina Melzer. Together they built a family that remained the center of his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Regina Melzer; his children, Sara Bennett and husband Timothy Bennett, Mark Melzer Jr., Mary Melzer, Melissa Melzer, and Nina Burnham; and his treasured grandchildren: Sophia, Cecilia, Ryan, Tyler, and Olivia; Kyle Jr and Silas; Alissa, Brenden, Jay-ray, and Forever; and Erica, Landen, and Evan. Mark is also survived by his siblings, Frederick Sporrer III , Lotta (Dolly) Jakubowski, and the late Darlene Raimond, Carole Sporrer, Allen Melzer Jr., James Sporrer, and Stanley Sporrer, as well as his sister-in-laws, Roxanne Sporrer, Mary Hicks, and Theresa Whiteford. He was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. For more than 33 years, Mark dedicated himself to his craft as a master carpenter. His exceptional skill, strong work ethic, and pride in his work left a lasting mark on countless homes and projects throughout his career. Outside of work, Mark enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought him joy throughout his life. He was an avid billiards player and also enjoyed darts, bowling, and archery. In his younger years, he was active in football and lacrosse, sports that inspired a lifelong passion for cheering on the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles. Above all else, Mark's greatest pride and joy was his family. He was happiest when surrounded by those he loved, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come. His kindness, sense of humor, unwavering support, and generous heart will never be forgotten. Though his presence will be deeply missed, Mark's legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly and the countless lives he touched. Mark will be truly missed, and he will never be forgotten.
