Victoriano Ting Gaw

Victoriano Ting Gaw May 10, 1947 - July 9, 2020 Victor is the 5th of 8 children of Gaw Pin and Teng Chen Ty, born in the Philippines by parents who originated from Amoy, China. He was raised a Buddhist and converted to Catholicism in adulthood. He served at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Laurel, Md as Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion, and at First Friday Adoration, and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. He’s a Marian devotee, and would spend hours in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. He also attended bible studies when his schedule allowed. He loved chess and scrabble, and has a soft spot for dogs. His love of books led him to become a volunteer at Howard County Library’s Savage Branch. In his younger days, he was active and served at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Pasay City, Philippines. Victor is quiet but has a friendly nature. The latter would prove helpful in his sales and marketing career that took him all over the Philippines. His work also brought him to Taiwan for a couple of years, prior to him joining his family in the US. Not one to sit idle, he most recently worked full time at Maryland Live! Casino. Victor was predeceased by wife Amelia Gonzales Gaw in 2015, and leaves behind his children Ma. Victoria (Jane) Crisologo, Annalie (Abigael) Malig, Erwin Kenneth Gaw and Marietta Margaret (Meggie) Gaw; sons-in-law Floro (Chip) Crisologo and Jojo Malig; grandsons Gavin Crisologo, Gabriel Malig and Johann Malig; brothers Antonio Gaw and Jose Gaw; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends and colleagues. He will be profoundly missed by all. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15, 2020, 11:00 AM at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 8603 Contee Rd, Laurel, MD 20708.
