Stacey Leigh Witt

Stacey Leigh Witt, age 41, of Long Neck, Delaware, passed away on December 30th, 2022. For those that knew Stacey, knew just how big her heart was. She was a kind and beautiful spirit who had unwavering love for her family. The oldest of three siblings, Stacey had two younger brothers to contend with and she quickly learned how to wield an Easy-Bake oven to keep them happy and slightly less annoying. She was the cool big sister that was always popular, able to hold her own on the softball field and was constantly on the go. No matter how busy she was, she would always make time for her family. Growing up in a home full of Philly Phaithful, Stacey took pride in rooting for her Phillies and Eagles. Through the good years and bad, the cheers and "choice" words, the emotional rollercoaster of being a Philly fan is something that she and her family always bonded over. With a sparkle in her eye, Stacey is sitting next to her dad smiling and laughing, eating crabs and watching the games, once again. Stacey had a well-known love for music. Starting with the New Kids On The Block posters on her wall as a kid, to the R&B and rap music vibrating from her red Ford Probe during her car club era, music was always a part of her life. She had an appreciation for all music and shared an emotional connection to it, embracing the sad and happy memories that a song would evoke. The life that her parents made for her at the Delaware Bay was something that Stacey was always so thankful for. She would often share some of her favorite childhood memories, from the many magical Christmas’ to the days (and 1 crazy overnight adventure) spent crabbing and fishing on the pontoon, and of course, the best summers a kid could ask for, at “Mom-Mom’s Beach”. Her striking red hair, sweet smile and gentle laugh will forever be remembered during those happy times. Stacey’s heart was and will always be with her beautiful daughter, Kayla, and home at the beach, with her family and friends. Stacey is survived by her mother, Barbara Witt, her brothers, David M. Witt Jr. (Emily) & Justin M. Witt (Tara); daughter, Kayla Chaney and many more loving family members. Stacey was preceded in death by her grandparents, David & Ann Witt, and her father, David M. Witt, Sr. A private memorial will be held.
