Robert Salvatore Gulino

Robert Salvatore Gulino, 70, of Nottingham, MD passed away on Monday, October 13th, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on March 31, 1955 in New London, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Rosario Gulino and Mary Polise; step-son of Rosemary Gulino. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Denise Gulino. Robert graduated from Severna Park High School in 1973. With a continued passion for learning and education, he attended Calhoon School of Engineering, excelling in courses such as marine control systems, electricity, electronics, diesels, and machine shop & welding. After graduating he joined the U.S. Merchant Marines in 1982 as an officer (third assistant engineer of steam and motor vessels). At this time, he applied for and accepted a commission in the United States Naval Reserve (lieutenant) until he was honorably discharged in 1994. Robert worked as a stationary engineer at Sasol (integrated energy and chemical company) for over 25 years. After Sasol closed the plant in Baltimore, Robert worked for University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake medical center as a stationary engineer until he retired. Robert enjoyed spending time in his garage. His passions included repairing cars/engines, computers and computer software, home remodel/construction, and more. Robert was an all around handy man and always had a funny story working with his long time friend Dominic. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by three children, Matthew Gulino and wife Chenoa of Perry Hall, MD; Greg Gulino and wife Briana of Belair, MD; Michelle Gulino of Nottingham, MD; three grandchildren Presley, Malakai, and Owen; two step-grandchildren Carly and Emmy; brother Ronald Gulino and wife Arlene of San Diego, CA; sister in law Nancy Gulino of Westminster, MD; step-brother Chris Watt and wife Kathy of Winter Springs, FL; two step-sisters Susan Coomes and husband Bill of Severn, Md and Kim Smith and husband Doug of Sebastian FL; He was preceded in death by his brother Roy Gulino. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 8th, 2025 from 10:30-11:00 at the Holly Hills Cemetery, 10201 Bird River Rd Middle River, MD for a short ceremony and to pay your respects.
