Richard M. D'Antonio, Sr.

Richard M. D’Antonio, Sr. a devoted husband, loving father, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024 at the age of 89, surrounded by his family in his home in Riviera Beach, Maryland. Richard was born in Baltimore on January 3, 1935 to Joseph and Mildred D’Antonio. He attended Southern High School, graduating with the Class of 1954. Shortly after graduation, Richard enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country honorably for 8 years. During his time at Southern High School, Richard met the love of his life, Irene Reina. They married on January 2, 1954, and shared an extraordinary bond spanning 70 wonderful years. Together, they were blessed with three children: Vanessa, Michael, and Anthony. Richard was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family. He spent 39 years with Westinghouse Electric Corporation in their Department of Defense specializing in the manufacturing of AWACS Radar Systems. Outside of his career, Richard cherished spending time with Irene and their children, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew him. In addition to his role as a loving husband and father, Richard had a passion for his hometown teams, The Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens. He enjoyed keeping their property nicely manicured, woodworking, and helping others with handyman jobs. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his warm heart, and his steadfast commitment to his loved ones. Richard is survived by his beloved wife Irene; his children Vanessa and her husband, Jack, Michael, and his wife Sheila, and Anthony and his wife, Buffy; grandchildren Heather and her husband, Michael, Joshua, and his wife Cheryl, Jordan, and her husband, Joseph, Gabrielle and her husband, Jake, Julia and her significant other, Matheo, and great grandchildren, Kyle, Sullivan, Dominic, Alyssa, Charli, and Griffin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mildred D’Antonio, his sister Jackie, and his brother Donald. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to your local animal shelter, in memory of Richard M. D’Antonio, Sr. Richard will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, integrity, and strength will continue to inspire us all. “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.”
