Peter Glenn Agustin

Peter Glenn Agustin, of Hanover, MD, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the age of 73. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda R. Bartle. He was the beloved son of his late parents Pedro Ruiz Agustin and Pacita Montayre Agustin (Ramirez). He is also survived by his Sister: Susan Ponton (Agustin); Brother: Peter Arthur (wife - Nila); Nieces: Kristi Lowery (Ponton) (husband - David); Rosemarie Kenney (Agustin) (husband - Lezone); Nephew: Peter Ryan Agustin (wife - Candice); Grandnieces: Rochelle, Jordan, Aurora, and Anila; Grandnephews: Anthony and Chase. Peter loved life. He loved fine clothes and was always the best dressed at any gathering. He loved good food, especially if he could be with friends and family. He loved Dewers on-the-rocks and a fine cigar. And, he especially loved parties, many of which he would host for friends and relatives on special occasions; elaborate affairs with an open bar, huge buffet, a band… He was always the life of the party. And, he loved to dance. Most of all he loved Lin (a former Rockette no less), whom he met and married later in life. But, while married for a shorter time than some other couples, he made sure to pack in a lifetime of living in the years that they were together. Peter loved his country and devoted his adult life to the motto: to protect and serve. He served in Vietnam attaining the rank of Sergeant in the US Army, and being awarded the bronze star among other commendations. After discharge from the army, he entered law-enforcement in Maryland for a brief period, after which he became a special agent with the Department of Defense, Criminal Investigative Service, and after 9/11 he was assigned to work with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Upon reaching the Dept. of Defense mandatory retirement based on age, he signed on to continue service to his country as a private contractor and investigator in Iraq. And when this was no longer physically practical, he employed the private contractor route once again as an investigator for the federal government doing security background checks. He was also able to combine his career choices with a passion for motorcycles by joining and then becoming an officer in the Blue Knights motorcycle organization (Maryland Chapter IX). Among his Blue Knights Brothers, he was known for his Harley Davidson and BMW Law Enforcement model bikes, and for his vigorous, and often vehement, support of the Chapter’s charitable work on behalf of veterans. Peter was fun loving and generous. When you were with Peter you always had a good time. When you were with Peter, you knew you were with someone who cared. He loved and was loved in return. He was truly one of the good guys. A graveside service will be held at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032, on a date yet to be determined. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when conditions are safe to do so.
