Michael Lee Baker, Sr.

It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Lee Baker, Sr. announces his passing on Thursday, January 13, 2022, after a courageous battle against cancer. His journey ended when he went to Heaven at 5 am. He was always an early bird. Michael Lee Baker, Sr. (61) was born on May 23, 1960, in Baltimore, Maryland to Edgar and Pearl Baker. On May 8, 1982, Michael married his beloved wife, Sandra Ann Baker. They have been married for 39 years. Michael was a graduate of Polytechnic Institute. He worked as a painter and helped with home remodels. He taught his family all the tricks and tips that go along with painting. He was also a master of drywall. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Pearl Baker, his father-in-law, Lawrence House, his brother, Ronald Baker, Sr., and his nephew Ronald Baker, Jr. In addition to his beloved wife, Sandra Baker, Michael leaves behind his daughter, Kristina Baker, her boyfriend, Brian Goldberg, son, Michael Baker, Jr., his fiancé, Chelsea Dennis, grandson, Michael Baker, III, two bundles of joy due in May, Kylie and Kamden Baker, Kristina and Brian’s fur baby, Phoebe, Michael and Chelsea’s fur baby Oreo, as well as his mother-in-law Lorraine House, and many sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Michael’s simple pleasures in life included spending time with his wife Sandra, spending time with his children and grandchildren, spending time with family and friends, sharing special moments with his grandson Michael III, spending time fishing, giving Phoebe (Kristina and Brian’s fur baby) belly rubs and taking her for walks, eagerly looking forward to family parties months in advance, going to Bethany Beach (his HAPPY place – always getting up early to watch the sunrise and being the first one at the breakfast spots), as well as being a Ravens, Orioles, and NASCAR fan. His final days were spent at home surrounded by loved ones, recounting memories of love and laughter. Michael will be missed but never forgotten by his loving family and friends.
