Margaret "Peggy" Elizabeth Boarman Painter

Margaret Elizabeth Boarman-Painter was born on September 25th, 1950. She was known and loved by many throughout her life as Peggy. Born at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Washington DC, she was the youngest child of two children of the late Roland and Dorothy Boarman. Peggy attended PGCPS and graduated from Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD in 1969. Upon her graduation she hastily joined Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Washington DC. She met Lee Painter whom she later wed. In April anticipating starting a family eventually consisting of their first child Scott Painter, followed by Laura Painter-Bess, then Sarah Painter, and finally Rachel Painter. Their union was finally complete and after a couple of years finding home in Cheverly, MD which has been the family home since the 70s. While following the path of the Lord, she attended Landover Christian Church for many years. After working in the life insurance field for several years, Peggy transitioned over to a new career path in the early 90s to work with PGCPS, where she continued her career in Upper Marlboro, MD. She worked in various departments a woman of true versatility the divisions that she worked varied from the art, science, music, tag and other various divisions. Upon relocating to Crofton area, she continued on her path with the Lord, at the First Baptist Church of Crofton. Peggy was a compassionate driven, loving, and kind woman. Her values became that of her children and that of her grandchildren. Of these values she made integral to her family treating others with kindness, being honest, loving, being compassionate, respectable, and holding strong to personal morals. Peggy was known as a kind, caring, loving person to all she encountered. Her heart carried the world. After retiring in 2016, Peggy continued to pour her love into friends and family. During her retirement she would spend her time devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was always so proud of the family she built, she adored all of the people in her life. Peggy was diagnosed with Breast Cancer for the first time in the late 2020. She smiled and fought through the battle to eventually beat it in 2021. She always stayed positive and expressed her love never losing sight of seeing the good in every person, experience, battles and always retained hope through the battle. Peggy is survived by her brother Dr Gerald Boarman and wife Valerie Boarman and extended family, her cherished children and her beloved grandchildren Skyler (21), Joseph (20), Markell (19) Kalie (17), Andrew (11) and Kenna (10). Services will be held at: First Baptist Church of Crofton Saturday November 4, 2023 at 1:00 pm 1690 Crofton Parkway Crofton, MD 21114
