Marcia Glenda Gamble

Marcia Glenda Gamble was born on September 10th, 1955 in Jersey City, NJ. She was the third child (and middle girl) of seven to the late Herbert and Margueritta Smith. Marcia grew up as a child in East Orange, NJ and attended East Orange High School. As a young adult, she moved to New York City, attended Rutgers University in Camden, NJ and later on Chabot College in Hayward, CA. Marcia was a skilled artist, writer, singer, and traveler who had an incredible love for music. Her love for jazz and soul music led her to meet her to-be husband, a musician, Mr. Clifton Gamble. Marcia and Clifton knew each other for over 42 years of their lives. In 1982, they had their first child. Marcia and Clifton were married for 39 years and would have celebrated their 40th anniversary in November of this year. In 1986, Marcia had her second child beginning a life changing journey, moving cross country from New Jersey to the Bay Area, California where she would reside and raise her family for over 30 years. She would later relocate back to the east coast near the DMV area. During her years in California, Marcia embarked on many adventures and experiences. From everything to having a successful babysitting business, in which all of the kids in her care would adore her, to becoming a certified real estate agent and loan servicing officer. Marcia worked for companies such as Transamerica and Wells Fargo Bank for over 25 years. Coming to California, Marcia would continue her Christian faith and love for the Lord. She would find her church home at Acts Full Gospel COGIC of Oakland, CA under the leadership of Bishop Bob Jackson. She would be a church member for over 20 years. She was a member of the choir. Coincidentally, her vocal talents would later lead her to training, becoming a professional singer where she would go on to showcase her vocal talents in Italy and other parts of Europe during a 2009 European jazz festival. Marcia had a fond love for children, her own as well as others. Always loving and giving. So many wanted Marcia to babysit their children because of her love, honesty, and care for every child that she ever encountered. She truly had a gift that motherhood brings. Marcia’s life was full of unique experiences, travels, adventures, learning, love, and family. Marcia brightened everywhere that she went and everything that she was a part of. To know her was to love her. Her aura, exuberance, sense of style, beauty, and grace put her in a class all her own. She will deeply be missed, and loved forever. Marcia leaves behind her love and best friend, her husband Clifton. Her son, Ryann, daughter Kellee, Son-In-Law, Anthony, and grandsons Giannis and Alexander. She also leaves behind sisters Cynthia, Sharron, Lynette, and Kara as well as brothers Girard and Donald. Her sister Glenda (preceded her in passing). She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends, and associates.
