Joyce Elaine Creech

Joyce Elaine Creech was most at home in her kitchen. She loved cooking for family, friends, and other loved ones and she always cooked more food than could be eaten. She brought joy and love to peoples lives through full bellies. We believe she is probably already busy cooking for all those loved ones she has been reunited with. Joyce passed away in the early morning, Friday January 22, 2021. Joyce spiritedly beat and recovered from Covid in December. During her last weeks with us, she was vivacious and stubborn, ready to tackle her physical therapy to rebuild the strength she lost during her battle with the Covid virus. Unfortunately her heart had worn weary and wasn’t up to the battle. She left us in peace, with grace as she fell asleep for the last time. Joyce was born on May 5, 1938 in Rock Hall, Maryland. She married Gilbert Creech on March 7, 1954. The happy couple bought their first and only home in Dundalk, Maryland in 1956. They spent 65 years in the same house together making it a home for themselves, their children, their grandchildren, and even their great grandchildren. Joyce never let a single person leave her home without a home cooked meal or snack. In fact, she never let an animal leave hungry either, always bringing in strays and nursing them back to health. She had a heart so full and ready to give. She never worried about herself, and always put her loved ones first. Joyce is preceded in death by her son, Gilbert Joseph Creech, and her most beloved pets, Mickey and DC. Joyce is survived by her husband, Gilbert Creech, her daughter, Frances Elaine Czyzewski, her granddaughters, Ashley Zimba, Melissa Czyzewski, and Jessica McClellan, and her great grandchildren, Zachary Zimba, Skylar Bailey, Fallon Zimba, and Aria McClellan. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family and all who knew her. Joyce wished to be cremated and laid to rest in her hometown of Rockhall, MD. At this time her final service will be held at a later date in the Spring this year. Details to follow.
