George Arthur Thomas Peugh, Sr.

George A. T. Peugh Sr. 08/26/1957 – 02/26/2023 Our beloved Artie, husband, dad, pop pop and friend lost his hard courageous fight to cancer. Growing up in Howard County working with his dad in the family construction business, he met the love of his live Melinda and soon became a proud dad to George Jr. (JP) and loving poppop to David, Logan, Emily, Clarissa, and Brianna. He would then become a honorary pop pop to so many, including Jazabell (Jaz) , Alana, Liam, Jamey, Mason, Brandon, Shawn, Katelynn, Meghan and Aliyah who often spent time at family gatherings. Artie took great pride in his hard work ethics. He had a passion for carpentry leading him to start his own business. Attending school functions, showing support to his grandchildren, attending softball games, and going away on family trips whenever time allowed. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles with his son, wife and friends. He loved working with his hands from carpentry to working on cars with callused hands to show for it. He was a man with few words but had a huge heart, sense of humor, and was a man who adored his family. Artie was diagnosed with two types of lung cancers after going in for what was to be a routine angioplasty in February of 2022. After stent surgery and chemo, proton therapy would immediately started requiring him to travel to Baltimore multiple times a week. The cancer made its way to his brain causing him to undergo radiation. Although life kept throwing him curve balls he never gave up. He continued to tinker on projects to keep him going everyday with his mind set of returning to work one day. He went into remission but soon after the cancer would return. This time would require starting harsher treatments for both cancers. Unfortunately, to our surprise cancer won the battle. He had so many that helped him on his journey. Thanks to the Maryland Proton Treatment Center, Dr. Rana and staff, Dr. Juan Cordero and staff, Dr. Cumberbatch-nurses Amanda, Harley, and Carlie. Dr. Mark Malkus and Karli, Harris Teeter Pharmacy in Easton, Amedisys Home Care-Mason, Michelle and Lamont. Compass Hospice, DORS including Andrea, Jena, Mindy, Lynn, Rachel and Amanda. Other thanks for the help with the Go Fund Me, the bingo fundraiser, to everyone making dinners, for sending cards and countless calls checking in, giving prayer and encouragement. Your memory is our keepsake, with which we’ll never part. God has you in his keeping, we have you in our hearts. A private celebration of life is to be in April.
