David John Reth

David John Reth of Baltimore, MD passed away on December 25, 2022, at the age of 57, at Hospice Gilchrist Center in Towson, MD. His battle over the years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Dave came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. Dave was born on August 11,1965 in Springfield, Massachusetts. He graduated from Eastern Vocational Technical High School in Baltimore, MD in 1985. While attending EVT, Dave met the love of his life, Kimberly. David and Kim married on November 24, 1989, and soon after welcomed their first child, Anthony. In short work, the family grew to four with the birth of their daughter Kaitlyn. Through the years, Dave enjoyed bowling, cars, going out with friends, and spending time with his family. He loved visiting Ocean City, making multiple trips per year with friends and family frequenting his vacation home in Selbyville, DE. Being a grandfather, referred to as Opa, came naturally to Dave. His warm heart and infectious smile brought joy and laughter to his granddaughters, Avery and Peyton. His granddaughters loved swimming, swinging, riding in the Jeep, and going to the beach with Opa. David is survived by his wife, Kim, his son Anthony Reth and wife Emily, daughter Kaitlyn Rayman and husband Zacharie; two granddaughters, Avery and Peyton Reth; his father John Henry Frederick Reth III and his wife Joyce; his twin-brother Dennis Reth and wife Chrsitina, sisters, Cheryl Monius and husband Michael, Christina Kunkowski, and April Giersi and husband Frank; late mother-in-law Patricia Kennedy, father-in-law Leroy Kennedy and wife Jeanne, sister-in-law Christina Steg and husband Christopher, and late loving dog Brunswick. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. David lost his battle against prostate cancer. His family wishes to extend a special thanks to the dedicated staff of the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Gilchrist Towson Hospice Center. Family and friends will honor and celebrate David’s life in the way he would want to be remembered - as a loving and caring man. Visitation will be at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10003 Bird River Road, Middle River MD 21220 on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
