Daniel Brendan Forsythe

Daniel “Dan” Brendan Forsythe died suddenly at home on August 18, 2019 in Elkton, MD at the young age of 40. Dan is survived by his parents, Joseph (Jerry) and Georgia Forsythe of Baltimore, MD; his wife Sarah Elizabeth Forsythe; his children Emily (Charlie), 15 and Dakota Layne, 3. Both of his brothers, Quintin and wife, Toni Forsythe of Edgemere, MD and Phillip and wife, Faith Forsythe of Sherwood, AR; his father–in-law Reginald Griffin, Jr. of Elkton, MD; his mother & father-in-law, Kathy & John Farley, Sr. of Joppatowne, MD. In addition to the above, he has 4 other sister-in-laws, 3 brother–in-laws, 10 nieces and 5 nephews, all whom he loved dearly. Dan was born on September 7, 1978 in Baltimore, MD to Joseph (Jerry) and Georgia Forsythe. He graduated from Dundalk High School in 1997. After high school, he attended R.E.T.S. where he became a certified HVAC technician, specializing in refrigeration. Although Dan knew his wife Sarah from early days in school, they officially met in 2006 and quickly became a couple. He helped Sarah raise their daughter Emily (Charlie) since she was 2 ½ years old, and officially married Sarah on June 19, 2009. They welcomed their baby, Dakota Layne in June of 2016. Dan was a wonderful father and good provider and dearly loved all of his girls. Dan was very accomplished at his profession in the mechanical field of HVAC, specializing in refrigeration. He became known in the business for figuring out problems when many others could not. Dan loved history and politics; he even campaigned door-to-door for our current president! He loved music, especially the band, Alice in Chains, as you may have noticed, his daughter Dakota’s middle name is Layne, he was very proud of that contribution! Dan loved Baltimore sports and was a true fan of the Orioles, Ravens and the Terps! He loved to shoot pool and played on a league with his sister-in-law, Jennifer. He also liked to dance to the tune of “Billy Jean.” Those fortunate enough to have witnessed Dan busting out some of his signature moves can certainly say he made you laugh or at least smile. Dan was a quite a talker and knew a lot about many subjects, and even if he didn’t know about something he would continue to talk. Most of all, Dan deeply loved his family and friends and always enjoyed getting together where he was often the life of the party and always with that beautiful big smile. All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life for Dan on Saturday, September 7th, 2019; this is Dan’s date of birth as well. The service will be held at the Cross Roads Baptist Community Church, 3201 Lynch Road & Martha Avenue, Edgemere, MD 21219. Dan’s Uncle, Retired Pastor W. Eugene Gunter, Jr. will preside over the service. There will be a welcome reception starting at 10:00 AM where you can visit with family and friends along with light refreshments. The service will begin at 11:00 AM. We hope you are able to join us on this day. As many of you know, Dan had just started a new job. His health & life insurance were to begin on September 1st; unfortunately, he had no life insurance in place.
