Brenda May Kalinowski

Brenda M. Kalinowski, 56, of Baltimore, Maryland, made her way to her heavenly home on November 21, 2020 due to complications from chronic disease following several months of hospital and nursing home stays and a brief period under hospice care. Born on May 12, 1964, Brenda was the eldest daughter of Diana Pawlowicz (nee Laro) and the late, William H. Pawlowicz. She was a proud graduate of Hampstead Hill Elementary, Canton Middle, and the Patterson High School class of 1982. She was the beloved sister to Donald Pawlowicz Sr. and his fiancé Deborah Mesick and Deniece Price and her husband Manard. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Joseph M Kalinowski and their two daughters and 4 grandchildren- Melissa Kalinowski, mother to granddaughters- Isabella, Aryana, and Amaya, and Jennifer Van Pelt and her husband Brett, parents to grandson, Greyson. She was a proud Aunt to Jacob Price, Donald Pawlowicz Jr. and his sons- Bryce, Evan, and Karter, and Martin (Marty) Smutek and his wife Sarah, and their children- Kierstin, Carly, Connor, Piper, and Dylan. Throughout her life, Brenda held various positions in the banking, insurance, legal, and floral industries and finally as a toll collector for the State of Maryland before disability forced her to leave the workforce. She volunteered as a Board Member on the PTA for Holy Rosary School, fighting to keep its doors open for the third generation of family members. This was a fight she fought until the bitter end when the Archdiocese closed its doors, forcing her to find a new school for her daughters to attend. Brenda desired a safe place to live for her family and friends, especially when it came to her children and grandchildren. She loved her daughters, but her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was known to stand up to trouble and ensure that it didn’t linger around for the well-being of all people in her community. She was a friend to many and cared about others. She seemed to know everyone, and everyone seemed to know her- whether or not you liked her- depended on the person you were as she was not afraid to speak her mind. Brenda fought her whole life to make others happy. Through all of her health conditions, the aches and pains, successes and failures in life, she tried her best to support her family as much as she could. Though she didn’t have much, she’d give everything she had to see someone else smile and be cheerful. Though Brenda’s life was cut short, her memory lives on through the lives that she touched, the family who loved her, and the friends she made along the way. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service and Burial will take place on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Visitation will be from 10:30-11am followed by the service at 11am at Christian Fellowship Church of God, 12909 Eastern Avenue, Middle River, MD 21220. Interment to follow at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens, located at 10201 Bird River Road, Middle River, MD 21220.
