She was born on May 8, 1947, and lived a life filled with love, kindness, and the simple joys that brought happiness to those around her. As a young child, Bonnie contracted spinal meningitis, which resulted in lifelong disabilities. Although she faced many challenges throughout her life, she met them with remarkable resilience, a gentle spirit, and an appreciation for the simple blessings that brought her joy. Those who knew Bonnie admired her kind heart, sweet smile, and the quiet strength she carried every day. Bonnie was the beloved daughter of the late Bennett Louis Sarro and the late Doris Ruth Sarro. Following her mother's passing, Bonnie made her home with her devoted sister, Colleen Kocur, where she was surrounded by unwavering love, compassion, and exceptional care. She was the cherished sister of Colleen Kocur and her husband, Michael Kocur, and David Sarro and his wife, Rebecca Sarro. Bonnie was a loving aunt to Kelsey King (Wesley), Kara Martinez (Seferino), and Wayne Sarro (Nicole). She was also a proud and devoted great-aunt to Peyton Sarro, Gabriel Sarro, Vincent King, and Dominic King. Bonnie shared a special bond with her devoted cousins, Kathleen Riley (John) and Ruth Barrington (Charles). Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Bonnie dedicated many years of her life to meaningful work. She began her career at the Shelter Workshop, where she enjoyed the friendships she formed and the sense of purpose it provided. She later worked for many years at OBI, where she continued to take pride in her work and the relationships she built. One of Bonnie's greatest joys was caring for the many animals that were part of her family's life. Whether tending to horses, dogs, cats, goats, or even guinea pigs, she had a gentle heart and a special bond with every animal she met. She also found happiness in quiet, creative pastimes. Bonnie loved knitting, coloring, painting, and spending countless hours working on puzzles. These hobbies reflected her patient spirit and brought her comfort throughout her life. Bonnie will be remembered for her gentle nature, loving heart, and the joy she found in caring for others—both people and animals. Her quiet strength, warm smile, and kind soul touched everyone who knew her. More than anything, Bonnie will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and the love they so faithfully returned throughout her life. A private family service will be held later.
